During our stay at Conrad Centennial Singapore, we were offered an upgrade option to “premium king” room type at a discounted price of S$19 at the check-in lobby, which came along with a S$30 F&B credit. We were happy with this offer and stayed at room number 1817, featuring a stunning city view.
The premium king room is a 40 sq. m. (430 sq. ft.) refurbished room located on higher floors (floor 18 or above) with premium WiFi, one-time S$30 Food and Beverage credit, free local calls and premium WiFi, 20% discount on laundry and dry cleaning services as well as 1 hour of meeting room usage. Additional features include built-in universal power sockets, USB ports, and an intelligent lighting system. The spacious marble bathroom comes with double vanity sink, large bathtub and separate shower stall with rain shower.
Upon our evening arrival at Conrad Centennial Singapore, we were pleased to find our room had already undergone turndown service, with slippers and fresh towels awaiting us on either side of the bed. Our luggage arrived promptly, just 10 minutes after we checked in. To our delight, we found a thoughtful welcome gift of a delicious red velvet cookie on the table.
The room itself was lovely, and we particularly enjoyed the cozy window sofa, perfect for lounging and relaxing. However, we were disappointed to find that the television was not functioning properly. We called the customer service team late at night (11pm), and within 15 minutes of our call, the engineering personnel arrived to fix the issue. While this was a minor setback, it was quickly resolved and did not detract from the overall quality of our stay.
In-room dining was an excellent way to indulge our dining credits. Our in-room dining experience was exceptional, with our late-night order (2am) prepared quickly and delivered to our room within just 15 minutes. We ordered a Singapore Laksa, which is a popular local favourite, is a spicy noodle soup made with a rich and flavourful coconut curry broth, fresh shrimp, fish cakes and an array of aromatic herbs and spices. The laksa was undoubtedly flavourful and delicious, I personally found the broth to be slightly lacking in volume. Perhaps adding more coconut milk could provide a creamier base and make the broth more substantial. Overall taste of the laksa was exceptional, and I would still highly recommend it to anyone looking to try this iconic Singaporean dish.
We made our way to Oscars at Conrad Centennial Singapore, where they serve their continental breakfast buffet. We arrived at 9:30, and while the restaurant was quite full, we were pleased to find no queue to be seated. The breakfast spread was great, with a wide variety of options to choose from. There were fresh pastries, a selection of ham and cheese, cold cuts, fruit, cereal, and an egg station where you could order your eggs to your preference. For those seeking a heartier breakfast, there was also a Chinese breakfast station, a western breakfast station, and even an Indian station serving up delicious Dosa. Overall, the breakfast was good and it was a fantastic way to start the day.
