The popular American burger joint, Eggslut, has finally opened its doors in Hong Kong! The restaurant is conveniently located just 15 seconds away from exit E of Causeway Bay MTR station.
Although the restaurant is small, and there may be a queue at peak times, the staff are friendly and helpful, and they will guide you through the menu while you wait in line.
Fun fact: the staff informed us that the ingredients in their burgers can be mixed and matched, so you can customise your burger with bacon, avocado, and other toppings of your choice! If you’re curious to know our recommendations, keep reading!

The scrambled eggs are exceptionally good – creamy, soft, and smooth. The semi-melted cheese on top complements the eggs perfectly, and double cheese would make it even better. The brioche bread is another highlight of this restaurant – it’s soft, buttery, and pairs well with the scrambled eggs.
The bacon is plentiful and super crispy. The sunny-side-up egg is cooked perfectly, but if it had a crispy edge, it would be even better. The homemade tomato sauce is excellent – it’s not too sour and has a sweet tomato flavour that sets it apart from other sauces. However, compared to the scrambled egg sandwich, the buttery flavour is not as pronounced, and the cheese flavour is not as prominent.

There are six mini hash browns in total, freshly fried and not greasy, with a good amount of seasoning. However, the truffle flavour is lacking – I expected a stronger truffle taste.
Eggslut first opened its doors in 2011 as a food truck, and quickly gained a cult following thanks to its signature dish, the “Slut”. Since then, Eggslut has expanded to several brick-and-mortar locations across Los Angeles, as well as other cities in the United States, the UK, and Asia. Despite its growth, the restaurant has stayed true to its roots, offering a menu that focuses on eggs and breakfast sandwiches.
One of the things that sets Eggslut apart is its commitment to quality ingredients. The restaurant uses cage-free eggs, locally-sourced produce, and artisanal breads to create its dishes, ensuring that each bite is packed with flavour.
