Lan Fong Yuen is popular with tourists, but despite living in Hong Kong for over 20 years, I never had the chance to try it until recently. I finally succeeded in visiting this must-try restaurant and tried their most famous dishes.
After hearing about the acclaimed best silk stocking milk tea in Hong Kong for so long, I was excited to finally try it. However, my high expectations were not met, and I was disappointed after my first sip.
Although the milk tea had an incredibly smooth texture, one of the smoothest in Hong Kong, it lacked in flavour with both the milk and tea notes being too weak.
Overall, it was just a cup of bland milk tea, and other cha chaan tengs in Hong Kong do a better job in terms of taste.

I had high hopes for the crispy buttered pineapple bun, but unfortunately, it turned out to be just average.
Although the bun was quite crispy, it would have been better if it had been toasted a bit longer. Additionally, the butter was not enough, and a bit more would have made it perfect.
The tomato and potato soup base used in the pork chop with fried egg and tomato sauce spaghetti dish was rich and homely. The portion was also generous with lots of tomatoes and potatoes inside. The pork chop was quite delicious and not too oily. However, the macaroni was overcooked and could have been better.
