We recently had the pleasure of experiencing the delightful 3-course weekend brunch at Salisterra, priced at $618 per person. We were arranged to sit next to the window and the view was absolutely fantastic! Overall, the food was great and service was excellent.

The bread was olive bread served with olive oil. The bread was soft and chewy, and the fragrance of olives was commendable. Personally, I prefer bread with butter, and I think the bread at The Continental, another restaurant in the hotel, tasted even better.

The must-order appetizer! There were two oysters in total. They were perfectly cleaned, without any shells or sand, and incredibly fresh and delicious with a creamy texture. Love it!

I chose smoked salmon for the egg Benedict. The portion was generous, and the quality was good. However, I found the Hollandaise sauce to have an overpowering lemon flavour, which slightly masked the taste of the dish itself.

The braised beef is cooked to perfection, tender and succulent. The portion size is generous, with approximately 6-7 pieces of meat. The beef absorbs the rich red wine sauce, resulting in a flavourful dish. It is served with a bed of North African couscous, which adds a delightful soft texture to the overall experience. The combination of flavours creates a truly unique and satisfying culinary journey.

The clams and pasta dish is outstanding in terms of taste. The clams are large and incredibly fresh, adding a delightful sweetness to the dish. The pasta is cooked in a fragrant white wine and seafood sauce, which I personally find very appealing. However, the texture of the spaghetti is slightly soft rather than being al dente. The presentation is a bit perplexing, with the clams placed somewhat haphazardly and a few strands of pasta on top of the clams.

The staff highly recommended this dessert “Cherry Clafoutis”, and it didn’t disappoint. The delightful creation features a luscious bread pudding as its base, topped with a scoop of pistachio ice cream, resulting in a visually striking presentation.

To ensure the ice cream doesn’t melt too swiftly, the restaurant serves it after allowing the bread pudding to cool down. However, I personally think that warm bread pudding would provide an even more delightful contrast when paired with the coolness of the ice cream. Perhaps the restaurant could consider serving the pistachio ice cream on the dining table, allowing guests to experience the harmonious interplay between the warm and cold elements to their fullest satisfaction.
